About R.L. Miller

R.L. Miller writes adult queer romance about complicated people, big feelings, and love that has to survive pressure from the outside world. Her debut novel, False Start, is forthcoming from Carina by Harlequin.

She has lived in the Midwest her whole life, growing up near Chicago, going to college at the University of Iowa, and now living in Indiana. That sense of place, from community traditions to small emotional details, often finds its way into her work. She has an MLIS and works in public libraries, where books, readers, and the stories people reach for are part of her everyday life.

When she’s not writing, she’s usually reading romance, overthinking fictional men, or finding new ways to make ordinary moments emotionally devastating.
